SCRIPTURE: Neh. 6:9 (AMP) -   For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, [O God,] strengthen my hands.

PK's PA: One of my favorite prayers, because how often has the rigors of life just worn you down?  The prophet Isaiah said it best, " Even youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly" (Is. 40:30).  Yet, what do you do when your strength is zapped and you know you still have much to do?  Who can you turn to that has infinite power, might and strength?  It sounds like Nehemiah knew Who he could turn to when things were looking down and external sources were trying to discourage him and the people who were working for him.  Nehemiah knew he could turn to The Only One who could strengthen him and give him the supernatural might to overcome his circumstances - (Neh. 1:5-11) - Turned his burden for the city and his people into prayer | (Neh. 2:4) - Potentially life-threatening interaction with the king, prayed for God to grant compassion | (4:4-5) - Prayed through enemies assaults | (6:9) - "Backbreaking weariness & undeserved attacks" - Are you noticing the pattern?  Not to mention, how effective the prayer of "strengthen my hands" can be; "So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth [day] of [the month] Elul, in fifty-two days." (Neh. 6:15)
