Day Six-One Neighborhood

SCRIPTURE: Ro. 12:9-10 (NIV) - " Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

 Different translations may say v.9 like this, "Let love be without hypocrisy" or "Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them." And in v.10, it might go on to say, "give preference to one another in honor" or "Take the lead in honoring one another." Whether we like it or not, these are not suggestions to be taken lightly, that once you hear them, or in this case read them, you can discard their meaning and keep on going about your business. No, these are commands! Commands that filter how we relationally live our lives with our brothers and sisters in Christ; especially, if we are leaders in any way shape or form!  

PRAYER FOCUS: Abba Father, thank You for the radical, indescribable love that You showed to us, even while we were unworthy to receive such powerful love, by allowing Your One and Only Son to show us how to honor others by being the, One & Only, final sacrifice for us. He came to serve and has called us to do the same in genuine love and honor. Let us today, give you the honor You are due, by having Holy Spirit lead us in genuine love so that we honor others Your Way, above ourselves, and avoid hypocrisy today!
