SCRIPTURE: Matt. 6:9-10 (NIV) - "9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
PRAYER FOCUS: For The Lord's kingdom to come and His will to be done in our neighborhood.
If being like Jesus is our ultimate goal, then it would stand to reason, "To do what Jesus did, we've got to pray what He prayed"? "Your Kingdom come!", is about engaging the enemy head on and taking back what wasn't his to take. The prayer of Jabez (1 Chr. 4:10) reminds us that we can ask Him to increase our territory (our ministry, influence and reach for His glory). Secondly, as the angels would say, "The whole earth is filled with His glory" (Is. 6:3) in that His glory is already there and ripe for us to reveal according to our calling, we just have to be willing to be sent like Isaiah was. Let us pray; "As the writer of Hebrews reminds us in chapter 2, the world is not the way it should because humans have not exercised the proper dominion and authority that God has given to us. So we ask, that You would lift our hopes to see this world filled with Your glory and a taste of heaven. Overthrow demonic powers that mangle souls and minds. Do it by the power of Your Spirit. Make this a signal You have arrived! You've given Jesus authority over all, now may Christ rule in life-giving, explosive power so that He is made great in the view of our neighborhoods.
