SCRIPTURE: 2 Cor. 9:6-15 emphasis on vv.6-7 (NLT) - " 6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
Sometimes you find things you cannot say better yourself; ever have one of those? Mine comes from a commentary, where the commentator says: "Giving away money is one of the hardest things believers do, especially when there are bills to pay and more expenses than income. However, helping others with their physical needs and not only their spiritual needs is a fundamental principle of Christian spirituality. Perhaps it would be easier to give our financial resources if we could turn away from our own continual consumption and live simpler lifestyles. Then there would be not only the willingness but also the ability to share God’s blessings with others."
PRAYER FOCUS: That the overwhelming generosity of the Lord would break the poverty mindset of our neighborhood and His children to stop seeing things as they are, but for what they could be through the genius of generosity.
