Matthew 1:18-25

  1. God’s way is not always our way. (vv. 18-19)
    • Societal rights.
    • What should have been.
    • Why is God’s way best?
  1. God’s way always saves. (vv. 20-21)
    • God’s assurances.
    • The Name of Jesus.
    • Uncertainty and second guessing.
  1. God’s ways always have God’s presence. (vv. 22-23)
    • Immanuel means, “God is with us.”
    • God was with Mary and Joseph.
    • God is with you.
    • God’s presence should bring us great joy and peace.
  1. God’s ways oftentimes require risk and discomfort. (v. 24)
    • Joseph put his life and reputation on the line.
    • There will always be risk in following God’s way.
  1. God’s way requires sacrifice. (v. 25)
    • Joseph did what God wanted.
    • God’s way is not always easy.
    • God’s way always opens the door for blessings.
